About Terrazzo

Terrazzo Flooring is a unique, versatile and durable flooring choice for commercial buildings. Created by mixing chips of a number of materials in a cement or epoxy binder, the end result is a long-standing and aesthetically pleasing floor.

We Offer Three Types of Terrazzo:

Each type of terrazzo serves different functions, coming with variable styles and durabilities.

Epoxy Terrazzo

Epoxy Terrazzo is an extremely versatile type of specialty Terrazzo flooring. Epoxy allows for greater flexibility in design and allows for a quicker application time. This type of Terrazzo flooring uses an epoxy matrix and is extremely thin – with a minimum rise of only 3/8” above the concrete slab it is laid on. Epoxy comes with the unique option of nearly any colour or pattern possibility.

If you want brilliant and limitless design options, Epoxy Terrazzo is an excellent choice. Plus, epoxy is resistant to most chemicals. Epoxy Terrazzo is not suitable for outdoor conditions, but if kept indoors, it is durable and will last many years, even in a high traffic environment. Because of the nature of Epoxy Terrazzo flooring, it is commonly seen in shopping centers.

Cementitious Terrazzo

Cement Terrazzo is made using a cement matrix mixed with aggregate to form the flooring. This type of Terrazzo flooring is thicker and heavier in nature when compared to other types of Terrazzo flooring. The Cementitious type of Terrazzo offers slightly fewer colour choices than other types of Terrazzo, such as Epoxy Terrazzo. However, Cement Terrazzo is well-suited to more challenging areas, and some may even be used outdoors.

If the area where the Terrazzo will be installed has no active vapour barrier beneath, Cement Terrazzo is an excellent choice. The end result will be a beautiful, resilient floor that is easy to maintain and durable. The thicker nature of Cement Terrazzo means that it is better able to withstand impacts and heavy traffic. Cement Terrazzo can create beautiful earthy colours within a space, and will suit a classic-looking or outdoor environment

Rustic Terrazzo

If you are looking for Terrazzo Flooring for outdoor application, then Rustic Terrazzo specialty flooring is the system for you. The main difference between Rustic Terrazzo and other types of Terrazzo Flooring is the texture of the finished floors. Most Terrazzo floors have a smooth surface, but Rustic Terrazzo has a rough, textured finish that is non-slippery and suitable in more harsh weather conditions. Rustic Terrazzo is commonly seen in and around swimming pools and on patios, walkways, and garages.
